JEC Oxfordshire's March Open Night, AGM & Programme Planning Workshop Proves Very Successful

JEC Oxfordshire's March Open Night, AGM & Programme Planning Workshop proves very successful with 20 members braving any fears of Covid19 to meet up at the very smart Eynsham Hall Hotel.

The JEC Oxfordshire Region held it's first AGm at the Eynsham Hall Hotel in March 2019 to much acclaim. It therefore seemed a 'no-brainer' to return here for the 2020 repeat. With the threat of Covid19 lurking, it was not entirely clear how many members might venture out, but 20 stalwarts made it.

To a backdrop of a rolling slide show of photographs of the region's activities over the last year, a short formal AGM was held. The existing committee was 'invited' to carry on its good work of the last year and those present heard how their £15 subscriptions had been used to generate them no less that £64 of value. And this whilst also donating £555 to the Region's chosen charity for the year - Sobell House, Oxfordshire's Palliative Care Charity. It was also unanimously decided to make Dementia the subject of our charity efforts in 2020.

Whilst consuming drinks from the hotel's bar, chatting and enjoying the tea and coffee that had been provided on a complementary basis by the hotel, members also then engaged in an exercise to demonstrate their personal preferences for activities that would make up the Region's 2020-2021 programme. It was very helpful indeed that there were 4 ladies present to give their perspectives. Serious planning can now take place, but it is clear that there will be a grand trip to a coastal site, going off to look at Rolls Royces, attending some local car rallies, continuing with Crambles and Veterans @ Heritage events as well as many other elements.

If you aren't already an active, and subscribing, member of the JEC Oxfordshire Region, you really should be !!

Great friendships, great events, charitable efforts and events for all the family has certainly made 2019-2020 a good year and 2020-2021 will clearly see more of the same.
