JEC Oxfordshire Enjoys an Open Night and County Drive to Banbury

The JEC Oxfordshire Region has only recently introduced Open Nights on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at various locations around the County.

This was only our third, and the weather was filthy, so it was a real success to get 26 people attending. If it had not been for the weather, it would have been 31.

Oxfordshire Region of the JEC only recently started having an 'Open Night' on the 2nd Tuesday of the month. This month's night was held in Warmington, north of Banbury at the wonderful The Falcon Pub.

June is supposed to be a lovely month right ? So we twinned the open night with a County Drive up from Abingdon. Despite filthy weather, 26 of the 31 people who planned on attending made it.

Actually you could say that 26 people each enjoyed a unique county drive as there was a breakdown and people got scattered.

Despite that, on arriving at The Falcon, we found that we had been allocated our own room (albeit intended for 20 originally) and that the tables had been laid as if for a formal dinner. There were even candelabra with real burning candles !!

We were honoured with a visit from new friends from the South Cotswold Region and Oxfordshire also signed up a new, subscribing, member.

The food and drink then enjoyed absolutely matched up to the atmosphere as members discussed our up-coming outings to Bicester Heritage's Super Scramble and Veterans at Heritage events on 23rd June and 21st August respectively.

If you weren't there, you missed a real treat. Hopefully we will see you at one of our next events !
