Essex Thameside August 'Drive it Day'

Museum of Power, Langford, Essex
25th August - 31st August 2019

Essex Thameside region is holding its own 'Drive It Day' this August with what we had originally planned to do in April.

We will meet for the monthly Cars and Coffee at the Museum of Power in Langford, followed by a visit to the museum itself. Housed in a former Water Pumping Station, the Museum contains a fascinating collection which ranges from a working overhead machine shop to a petrol powered iron. The jewel in its crown is the 'Lilleshall' Marshal triple expansion steam pump, now back on steam after 50 years.

We will then drive to the Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome near Maldon, the largest known surviving group of RFC buildings on a WWI aerodrome which was not adapted for further military use later in its history and so remains much as it was in the First World War.

A late pub lunch is optional.
