Come and see the Cheshire Cats at the Anderton boat lift on Sunday 4th August.

The JEC have been given permission to display our Jaguars in the grounds of Anderton boat lift. We have also been given a 20% discount on boat trips, food etc on proof of JEC membership on the day.

The Anderton boat lift raises boats 50 feet from the River Weaver to the Trent & Mersey Canal. Please click on photos below to expand.


Instructions for access & for parking:-

If you are arriving from the North leave the M56 at Junction 10 and proceed down the A49 until traffic lights at cross roads, turn left onto the A533 Runcorn Road. Follow this road all the way until you reach the traffic lights at Winnington Bridge, and go straight across the lights, (do not cross Winnington Bridge) take the first turn on your right into the small industrial estate. Go straight ahead, the private entrance into the boat lift is in front of you.

If you are coming from the south go through Northwich and head for Winnington on the A533. Keep on this road until you reach Winnington Bridge. Cross the bridge and turn right. Then take the first turn on your right into a small industrial estate, go straight ahead, the private entrance into the boat lift is in front of you.

If you are coming from Comberbach access into the small industrial estate is on the left before the lights, go straight ahead, the private entrance into the boat lift is in front of you.

Watch out for the marshals who will direct you.

The entrance gate will open at 9.30 and we need to have everyone parked up by 10.30 at the very latest. The boat lift opens to the public at 10.00 am.

Please note there will be no vehicle movement until 4pm.

Please remember to bring your JEC membership card as this will entitle you to 20% discount at the café and also on the boat lift rides.
