In 2017 you would have read the story of Billy Monger the 17 year old racer who was involved in a very serious crash. One year on and Billy is showing his character as he continues his rehabilitation.
Not only is he back driving again, but he is developing his skills as a driver with Mission Motorsport, a charity run by veterans, serving officers and motorsport professionals, whose mantra is 'Race, Retrain, Recover'.
Those of you who are familiar with social media will be aware of the hashtag #billywhizz. After a horrific crash at Donnington race track, Billy had both his legs amputated. Despite this he always maintained that his ambition would be to get behind the wheel of a race car. His attitude and bravery captured the hearts and minds of the nation and racing community alike, with the likes of Lewis Hamilton becoming a fan.
Less than a year on and Billy's determination is showing through as he starts his career driving cars again as well as entering the world of stunt car driving.
Thanks to a progressive recovery and rehabilitation process, aided by Mission Motorsport, Billy will play a feature role in a variety of high-octane manoeuvres alongside a team of drivers from Mission Motorsport. Four Jaguar F-Type cars will take to the arena performing a set of dynamic stunts in front of a packed audience.
