No, it's not a big job. Remove the underside shield. Rotate the supercharger belt tensioner and remove the belt. Then, rotate the accessory belt tensioner. Pull the belt off the pulleys. Remove the accessory belt tensioner which will trap the belt and extract the belt. Reassembly is straightforward as long as you have noted the belt runs beforehand! Mike.

Hi Mike have only just got round to my mechanic to fit the belts,he tried the supercharger belt but said it was too long. It was purchased from British Parts UK part no.C2C37055 can you confirm if this is the right part or is he doing something wrong.

That part number is the only one quoted currently by Jaguar. However, cars up to VIN B17758 used a belt, a tensioner and an idler all with different part numbers. These parts are no longer available. So, if the new belt is so much longer than the old one that it won't fit, you may have to replace the tensioner and idler as well as the belt to achieve a matching set of components. Try asking British Parts for the diameters of the idlers and tensioners that they stock. If they are larger than your existing equivalents, it would explain the difficulty your garage has encountered. Mike.
