MY10 XKR Sat Nav Disc

Postby 12AAS » Thu Apr 13, 2017 3:19 pm

OK, it all started innocently enough.
I removed my 2008-2009 Jaguar P/N 6W83-10E898-AE Europe DVD from the Nav Unit for reasons that now escape me. Put it down very carefully and sat on it. I realised I'd sat on it as it gave a loud crack in protest. Ooh poo!
Can anyone help me get a inexpensive replacement? :(

Hi Alan, I don't know about inexpensive but the genuine part can be bought here: ... arEMEA/GBP
The maps are no longer made so this is the latest available sadly.
I would be very wary of buying from elsewhere as there are a lot of pirates out there.
Also, the genuine discs come with a needed firmware upgrade built in.

That's good to know. Manufacturer support for inbuilt sat navs is incredibly poor. It's no wonder so many people become involved in finding ways around these systems. Mike.

XK 5.0L Normal aspirated. Reg date March 2013 - Under “Approved” warranty until April 2020

Sat nav does not recognise various post codes & addresses in “new” road layouts & housing etc.

From what I read, the sat nav DVD disk in the boot is out of date & Jaguar do not offer any useful recent update - but replacement recent update sets of 3 DVD disks (covering various countries including UK & continent) can be obtained online.

Grateful for any guidance regarding any members’ experiences:

- Up to what date do the replacement disks cover?
- Do disks come with simple instructions?
- Is it as simple as eject disk in boot “player” & insert update disk?
- Any firmware upgrade needed?
- Any general Warranty concerns?

Recommended suppliers of updated sat nav disks, preferably UK based?

Many thanks in advance.
