Calling Norfolk X100, X150 & F-Type drivers

Postby Delboy » Mon Jul 11, 2016 2:53 pm

I am looking into the feasibility of starting a regular fixed location monthly breakfast meet for owners and/or drivers of the above types of Jaguar.
There is nothing like it going on anywhere near my neck of the woods (Wymondham) as far as I know.
The first stage is to get expressions of interest from people who would be keen to attend such an event on a regular basis, so please do respond to this post if that is you.
I am thinking most probably a Saturday morning, about 9.30 at a venue who offer a decent breakfast and equally as important a large car park free of obstructions. As such I also invite possible venue recommendations.
Naturally this is open to anyone who would be interested, not just us Norfolk'ites. It just depends how far you are prepared to travel on a regular basis to attend such an event, but all are welcome.
Please get in touch if interested. :D

Good luck Derek. I hope your venture goes well. It's just a little too far from Yorkshire for me. Mike.

I think these get togethers are a great idea. Just a bit too far for me but best wishes for a successful idea.

Update: This has turned into a very successful and sociable brekky meet so if anyone else with an interest in the XK or F-Type models (you dont need to own one) would like to join us they will be most welcome. No need to be members of any partucluar club. Just come along and say hi.
Partners welcome, and you dont even have to come in your Jag if youre concerned about the weather!
Third Saturady every month, 9.30am at the Breckland Lodge, A11, Atleborough. NR17 1AY. They supply a decent full brekky with tea or coffee for £7.95.

Mike,
I have been thinking about something similar for a long time now, and for Yorkshire Jaguar owners I thought of the Carding Shed. Your thoughts please.

The Carding Shed is a great place for a meeting. Its only downside is that it can become quite crowded some weekends. Why not give it a go and see what happens? If you do decide to, since it's getting to the time when many Jaguars disappear under cover for winter, I'd either wait for spring or emphasise that any type of car will be welcome as long as the driver is prepared to 'talk Jaguar'! Yes Mike, I'll leave it to early spring because as you say a lot of cars will go into hibernation for the winter.
I wouldn't restrict it to models, as I personally like to see all jaguars. I understand the Carding shed gets busy but have an open mind with regards to venue, so anyone reading this please pass on your thoughts on a venue.

Getting back to the original post, if anyone with one of those models is interested in attending a monthly breakfast meet or evening meal meet please get in touch, either by replying to this thread, e-mail or private message.
I organize a very successful monthly brekky meet on the third Saturday, every month, 9.30am at the Breckland Lodge, A11, Attleborough, Norfolk NR17 1AY.
I also organize a monthly evening meal, 7pm on the first Tuesday each month at a different venue every month.
These meetings are now well attended by a bunch of like minded and friendly people.

Hi Chris, the next brekky meet is on Saturday 20th January. 09.30 at the Breckland Lodge, A11, Attleborough NR17 1AY.
You will be most welcome. Last month we had fourteen people attend. In summer its in the low twenties. No need to bring the XK if its in hibernation. I look forward to seeing you there, partners/friends welcome also.

The evening meals will start again in March.

Just in case Derek doesn't see this message Chris, you're right, it is the venue that was damaged by fire. Derek has now made alternative arrangements for the meet at the White Lodge, Attleborough just 100 yards from the Breckland Lodge on the same road.
