Groaning Sound from steering

Postby HADDERS1 » Tue Dec 30, 2008 7:07 pm

Hi All,
I had the unfortnate luck of running over something metal looking and solid that was lying in the middle of the road. Ever since this time my power steering now makes a groaning sound when I turn left (worse when at slow speed) and I think feels a little heavier. The sound seems to be worse when cold and not so bad when the car is warmed up?

I was thinking maybe power assist motor?

Any ideas?

Check your p/s fluid level first. If it's down, check for a leak.
You have described the exact same symptoms that my car had before I discovered the cause.
Leak in high pressure hose from pump. How it got holed I'll never know, but that's what it was for me...

Sorry its been a while. I topped up the fluid and found that one of the hoses was loose. Now fixed!!!
