Postby alexsnelling » Sun Jul 25, 2010 6:03 pm

Hello world,

Does anyone else have a series 2 coupe "made over" to look like a series 3 ? Or am I alone in this ?

Let me know !

Hi Alex,

I have seen quite a few Coupes transformed into a series 3 model. Mark (sorry Mark - I forget your surname  ) in Guernsey has done a fantastic job of his.
I would love to do a Series 1 Coupe transformation.

Kind regards,
Keith

I seem to remember in one of the club magazines a few years back, an article on the series 1 coupe prototype, that is now in Australia. It was a really interesting piece, and the series 1 lent it's classic lines quite well to the coupe. Can a series 2 production coupe be retro fitted to look like a series 1? I wouldn't mind finding out, as I have plenty of series 1 donor cars, and a series 2 coupe that needs 'help & tlc', maybe I should restore it as a series 1 coupe?????
All thoughts and answers invited please!

Hi Phil,

I am in talks with Les who owns the only genuine Series 1 Coupe - a feature should be on its way soon!
The body is easy to revamp - the dashboard is tricky as the heater blowers etc are all inside the cabin of a series 2.

Cheers,
Keith

Keith,
that would be a coup!(no pun intended!)
Not only the only real series 1 coupe, but to bring it back to Blighty! I'm surprised that our Antipodean cousins would consider letting such a prize return to the UK. It's almost like losing the ashes all over again!
I would really be interested in any updates, on that score!
