I have registered my interest with head office. I hope to take my Series two, if I can find a replacement later engine at a sensible price. Failing that, it will be the X330.

Now can't find a Series 1 windscreen wiper motor. Tried the usual sources but nothing apart from "untested" or "not working, for spares only". And those from the US so with some £50 freight to add too
If its only the motor you need Richard, SNGB do an exchange unit for £198 + VAT - part no 12450E. Good luck.
Thanks for the info. They're saying it'd be six weeks delivery -- in other words they want my old unit in to re-wind
by an outside firm with unknown lead time. I'm still hunting, there must be someplace that's got one on the shelf
somewheres -- meantime electrician will try a stock 14W motor but I have my doubts as the worm gear will be different. Still I've sent one down to see what he can do. Yes, he only reports the motor faulty so presumably the
gearing's not seized -- I'm not there

I've tried JagParts (no answer to email), and EuroJag (nothing earlier than 1994-ish kept)
Dunno where else to look as I'm not XJ6 knowledgeable...
Gone: '59 Mark I, '56 Mark VIIM, '59 Mark IX, '01 XJ8 Sovereign 4L LWB, '01 XJ8 Sport 3.2L, '01 XJ8 Exec 3.2L
Current: '03 Strange Rover L322
In trim shop for total refurb: '73 Owen Sedanca 4.2L
Stalled in storage '61 Mark IX with 4.2L

Interesting reading about the 50th Celebrations for the XJ. It is a pity that I live on the other side of the world as I would love to show you the Series Two XJ6 Special Limited Edition (SLE) that I own. There were only about forty of these cars assembled here in Nelson NZ in 1978. Perhaps JLR in conjunction with Jaguar NZ should sponsor the car and myself to attend the wonderful celebrations that you have planned?????. The car would look good in the museum and then the variants would be complete. I hope to have a small booklet published early next year on the Series Ones and Two XJ6's assembled here in Nelson. Kind regards to all from a very hot NZ (29 degrees today in Nelson). Brian Devlin

As the thermometer struggles towards 3 degrees here, that last comment about your weather is a touch below the belt! Your SLE sounds very interesting. How about sharing it by writing a piece for the Jaguar Enthusiast magazine along with a few pics? As you say, it would be very appropriate to the celebratory year of the XJ. Mike.
