Followed an lilac coloured, N-reg'd XJC 4.2 along the Ross Spur (A40) towards the Northbound M50 earlier this evening. Being driven in some style! I tried to catch up with it, to give the driver a thumbs up, but he was motoring! And when he joined the motorway I confess I gave up trying... Still, lovely to see one of these cars being driven - window pillars down- with such confidence and enthusiasm! I take my hat off to you Sir!
Never underestimate a series XJ! They may not be the quickest cars around today but they, especially V12s, can still lift up their skirts and show a fair turn of speed. The only problem is the price you pay at the pumps after a brisk run. Mike.

Thanks Mike. This particular XJC was badged 4.2, but it certainly was going well! My XJR had to break a sweat - albeit from a standing start - to catch up with it! But at the next roundabout he was gone again... A lilac car, on old style B&W number plates. I'm hoping I may get to see it again
