I've contacted CFS Motors(Jaguar Specialist) in Coventry and they said they could do the work for £300. I mentioned removing the oil from the torque converter and they said they would that, but couldn't guarantee all the old oil would be removed completely as it's not possible. Is this correct?

I've also tried to contact ABC Transmissions in Coventry aswell, but no answer.

With the high tech special full flush equipment (expensive kit), the vast majority of oil can be removed.

Without that kit, unless I`ve missed something, it is almost impossible to drain the converter. There is no drain plug fitted, only a lead type thermal melt plug in case of a transmission overheat condition.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Mike,

I got a quote from ABC Transmission of £350, therefore my choices are with them or CFS motors for £300.

I know this is a tricky question especially as I assume you havent used either of these establishments, but would you go with the transmissions specialists or the Indy taking price out of the equation?

I think you should base your decision on what equipment they propose using. The full flush option does the complete job. I`d favour that even if more expensive. You will need to ask each operator what they will be doing to your car and decide from there.

Ok will do Mike,

Both of them were saying the right things and are similar distances. I', swaying towards the Jag specialist as ABC aent very quick in getting back to me.
