changing my mates wheel bearings today

Postby Brakebuster » Sun Oct 04, 2015 9:20 am

a new work mate of mine who is not currently in the JEC is bringing his X-type round today , I am going to help him change the rear wheel bearings as they are singing like caged canaries

He is an ex military aircraft mechanic working out of Brize , and has been disabled out for a chronic back injury , and isn't able to do any heavy work , so i'm lending him my muscles to complete the job , he has literally just left the air force and come into civvie street as a security manager

any tips or advice for changing the rear wheel bearings ( 2005 2.1 V6 non 4 wheel drive ) would be most helpful , he has bought the new bearings with new bolts for the job

People for you, Vince.

He can`t need the repair that badly, can he?

Some advice and pics here. Rears are mentioned. Slider hammer for the fronts seems to be needed. 4hr jobby apparently. A lucky escape for you. Go and have a beer instead.

Vince, as you are free could I nip round about tea time and get you to change my gearbox for me?
