X300 Brake Pad Replacement

Postby jBlackwell » Mon Aug 01, 2011 3:35 pm

I am about to replace the rear pads on my X300. As a novice mechanic is there anything I should be keeping an eye out for?? All hints and tips appreciated.

james, it's simple nuts and bolts, just be aware that a 300 is two tons of car, it will hurt you if it falls on you, ensure the car is chocked abnd supported on axle stands on FIRM ground, take your time, do one side at a time and you will be fine

if in doubt use the Jaguar Heritage DVD to guide you through, or of course call me!

Hi Rob,
All successfully done. Car was suitably supported, I had enough scares of cars on axle stands ( A Q7 on four axle stands moved, unbalanced, and supported by me, and some plaintive cries of "help" still haunt me).
Pads replaced and is now all quiet and none grinding :)

Thanks for your offer of help :)
