Am I missing something? Any thoughts?
The Teves accumulator was at fault. The AC Delco part No. 25528382 has been discontinued but JLM 1907 is a replacement supplied by both Barratts and Dave Manners @ £220.12 inc VAT.
Note the 86-89 models (Girling brakes) use a different accumulator than the 90-94 models (Teves brakes).

Incidentally the old accumulator still appears to have some charge as the diaphragm is hard up against the oil connector and is solid.
Sounds strange, but I think some Teeves systems report a blown bulb this way.
Edit: Also possible handbrake switch needing adjustment?
'Remember that the value of your investment can plummet as well as fall'
That's curious because since the Teves problem appeared I have become aware that the bonnet lights were on and I thought that I had inadvertently switched on the lights, I had not, but the side lights were on front and rear. When closing the bonnet the lights go out!
On top of that the last few trips out I've had a bulb failure warning light coming on and going out on in random manner, checked every lamp even the interior lights but they are all working. So this is even more perplexing. I'll check the hand brake adjustment and see if that's the problem.
Cheers, Watch this space!
