If I remember correctly, I tin snipped a thin 'dart shape' out of the rear seat back, behind where the armrest closes onto, then it will fit. You will lose the ability to close the rear armrest up, or do away with it altogether, and leave the 'individual' look! You shouldn't have to to too much upholstery if you get it right.

I've fitted Daimler XJ40 seats in my 240.
These are two individual seats seperated by the armrest / storage box.
You can easily seperate the seats then make up a small filler piece.
Red is rare unless you can get seats from a 'Series' car.
I purchased doeskin and recoloured using Gliptone.
Would upload pics but I have looked at the instructions and given up.
If you wish I can send them by e mail. Just let me have your e mail address.

Hello Peter,

I'd be interested in seeing the pictures.
As an exercise, seeing as I haven't used the picture upload facility before I''m attempting to do so.

What I did:- click on the 'browse' box below the script section, this allows you to select a picture from your P.C., then click attach file, the last action is to place the cursor where you want the picture to appear in your script. Then click the 'place in line' box. I don't know how many images you can upload but I'm sure there is a warning when you exceed the size limit?

Let's try this. Actually have only photos of front seats but you get the idea.

Hello Peter,

thanks for that, they don't look too bad from that view. I presume you lose the picnic table the original has?

Actually you gain picnic tables on back of front seats as the 240 didn't have them and teh Daimler XJ40 did.

Hi First post on the forum but it is with regard to seats. I have a 340 and have purchased XJ40 front and rear seats to fit to my MK2 but my rear seats are solid not the split rear seats- will these still fit.

Finally does anyone have any pics drawings of what is required to modify the front attachments to fit these type of seats.

I bought them for the front seats which hve recline, headrests :D and the fact thay are leather rather that the ambla and they also have the reading light in the headrest. As they only cost 60 quid if the rear seats dont fit no probs.
