Re: Pre HE or HE ?

Any update on this Spen?

If you've done anything, hope you've gone for a pre-HE...they are rarer and cooler :D

FA Cup / XJS crossover...

I was searching for a stream for a friendly footie game today; I failed, but weirdly found this link to a video re the FA Cup from earlier in the year:

Re: Scratching the Itch

Welcome Matt and congrats on your purchase. I also bought a Celebration from Clarkes circa 11 years ago - and it's still going!! What you get from Clarkes isn't necessarily a 100% perfect car, but it is a really good car that you can have confidence in and can expect a very solid base; it's deffo no...

Re: EGR Valve and cooler failures

Sorry, just seen this - wow Cuneyt, that is a horrendous experience and clearly is ongoing. This does raise the question of how liable a manufacturer is when they follow a trial and error course at your expense; it's worrying that this dealer appears to not be interested in their reputation with suc...

EGR Valve and cooler failures

I have a 2.2 2013 XF and recently went into limp home mode. Green flag plugged the car in and advised that it was an EGR issue. Took it into my garage (who irritatingly, but maybe understandably, ran another diagnostics for £60 + VAT) and confirmed the issue. Apparently the EGR valve had failed and ...

Re: Salvage hunters classic cars

I've found the US shows to be quite good - I like the ones mentioned and the FantomWorks one, where the owners sink an amazing/obscene amount of money into their cars... Poor old Tim Shaw...his ears must be burning...I can cope with Mr Shaw and the backstory bits, but it's the constant re-capping th...

Re: Salvage hunters classic cars

Yes, I used to abhor the pre-HEs, but have come to appreciate them as being the 'coolest' of all the XJS variants in the context of 1970s cars. Having said that, I wouldn't swap one for mine as I also love the looks, reliability and chrome (!) of the facelift models. At the risk of offending 80% of ...

Re: Salvage hunters classic cars

I thought it looked a lot better without the bodykit and 2 colour body, whether it was commercially sensible to do all the work it entailed or not. The end product looked much more asthetically pleasing IMHO. I do find Drew P doesn't come across well on the TV...he may be a nice bloke, but he comes ...

In today's Classic Car Weekly; have to say I've seen these type of stories regularly over the past 4 years or so...time will tell...

Salvage hunters classic cars

Re: Bluetooth issue with phone

Thanks Dave

iPhone??? How dare you - this is an Apple free house... :D

It appears that the issue is with the music app I'm using; looks like it's latest upgrade has screwed it...so will switch to another which does seem to work...apologies for my ineptitude

Car SOS

Do the makers of Car SOS continually recap what they're doing and why they're doing it through the programme as there are soooooo many advert breaks that you may forget what the programmes actually about...?

Re: Bluetooth issue with phone

I tried the long unpairing - actually did it overnight and completely removed the phone from the car and vice versa, but unfortunately the infotainment controls still don't work...aaah well...will try another music player and see if it's to do with that.
