Re: I followed a Challenger Yesterday

Over the past few years I have got to know the owner, he is a keen tourist and we regularly meet at the HRCR organised touring assembles.

Re: Suffolk Owners Meet at Snetterton VSCC

Back in 2014 A number of owners met at the Autumn VSCC meeting. Reg Lowe, who has returned to the SS100 fold and I are going to meet up again this year (2019) for the same event which is now called the VSCC Endurance races and would like to invite any other SS100 readers to join us. The date is Satu...

Re: Handbrake pad thickness - outboard brakes

The hand brake shoes should not wear. Apart from the MOT test to check that the handbrake works as an emergency brake it never needs to be used when the wheels are rotating. If you are getting wear then the shoes might be dragging.

Re: Heritage C Type new in Germany

Johannes I hope you get an answer, your car looks very nice. There are a few C Type owners who use this forum, however if you use Facebook you might like to check the JDC Historic Replica and Specials Register group on Facebook. This is an open group and the knowledge of some of the group members is...

Re: New site for SS100 owners

I still check this on a weekly basis. Facebook is so easy but I challenge you to find some detail about things we discussed a month ago. This web forum is very good for keeping track of threads

Re: Dummy Hartford damper disks

The 4 1/2 inch name discs from VCSA fit well. I have cleaned up the star springs and after degreasing them will give them a coat of clear polyurethane before fitting them.

Re: Dummy Hartford damper disks

Thanks Roy. I will try one out in the morning. I asked the same question on Facebook and I suspect it will spark quite a bit of discussion.

Re: Dummy Hartford damper disks

I have not fitted them yet, but I expect the fit to be identical. I went for the 506 because the silver star spring was fitted to them. The 306 uses a black rounded spring. I could not read the type No on my disks. I looked at a number of suppliers and VCSA seemed to be the best. Holdens was the mos...

Dummy Hartford damper disks

After 32000 miles my dummy Hartford damper disks were looking a bit second hand and so I have invested in some new ones. Purchased from VCSA they are the correct size and design and will look great once I have cleaned the zinc star springs.[pic=][/pic]

Re: Front flexible brake hoses.

My car is six years old now and I have replaced the front flexibles. The original rubber has started to swell and de-laminate. I tried to replacing them with the braided stainless steel flexibles sold by SNG Barratt part JLM9702/ss. Unfortunately these are significantly shorter that the standard rub...

Re: Yet another new owner

Hello Bodmino Welcome to the Replica forum. Reg Lowe and I got it up and running a few years ago when we were concerned that Replicas and specials were ignored in the JEC. It has not taken off in a big way but there are some interesting topics you might be interested to read about suspension, poly b...

Re: New Owner!

Al, one other thing, if you drive the car and the roof gets wet leave it up until it has dried. If you have been in a shower by all means drop it when the rain has passed but when you get home put the roof up again to ensure it is dry to avoid shrinkage and mold.
