Re: Where to look for rust.

Very late reply to last post. No someone beat me to it. But the guy who bought it put 2000 mls on the clock and for some reason sold it back to the dealer (bereavement in the family I think) Then the dealer re advertised it for £2000 more than the original price and I was having none of that.

Differential Life

Hi I am considering buying a 2005 XK8 with 45k on the clock, at this mileage could there be any issues with the differential. The reason I ask this is because I'm on my third diff on my S Type and i'ts only done 77k. I know by reading this and other forums that the company that was manufacturing Jag...

Re: Differential bolt

Yes I would go for Eurojag they will have one, have you dropped the sub frame because when I swapped the Diff over on my car the bolt's don't come all the way out. So if you have make sure you put the bolt's through the sub frame before positioning it on to the underside of the car.

Re: Sat nav

Just out of interest has anyone tried one of these disks, and is there any truth in it when people say that an after market disc can damage the system.

Re: Front Wheel Camber

Thanks Mike I will do some more checks. But the bit that I mentioned about the small spirit level bubble being the same both sides does that suggest to you that the camber is ok. Also I'm going to increase the front Tyre pressures from 30 to 32 psi after reading relevant posts on another forum. Jeff

Re: Front Wheel Camber

Hi Mike I have don that checking procedure as you say. I had the car on axle stands under the jacking points so that the suspension was hanging loose so to speak. Wheels off and a long builders spirit level across the slam plate. I then placed a smaller spirit level onto the hub in between the wheel...

Re: Engine Size

Thanks Mike for your reply. It is the X150 that I am looking at, 2005 to 2008. I have been searching for an late X100 but tales of rust and to many previous owners has put me off.

Engine Size

Hi This has probably been discussed many times, but what is the difference between the 4.2 and the 5.0Ltr normally aspirated engine as regards to fuel consumption/tax/insurance etc as I am thinking of buying one.

Re: 2.7 DIesel S-Type metallic grinding noises when stationary and lack of power when not

Another thought I had was the Swirl Port valves if the diaphragms in them are split that can cause power loss and excessive smoke when under medium to hard acceleration. There is a way to test them by sucking on the vacuum pipe that goes into them to see if there is any or no restriction. The proced...

Re: Front Wheel Camber

Are you getting inside Tyre wear on the front, if you are apparently it's a common problem on the SType I have that problem but the N/S is worse, I thought it could be a camber issue but after doing a lot of checks I don't think it is. I have read on another forum that Jaguar factory toe in/out sett...
