Re: Major Service - Using a non Jaguar garage

The eternal dilemma. I think you need to consider how long you intend to keep your car and how you plan to change it. If you might be exchanging through the same main dealer you may have a better chance of getting a higher trade in if the car has full Jaguar service history and the dealer has servic...

Hi Mike,
Reading your comments about model battery packs made me think that there will be interesting threads on problems with car battery packs on the website in the near future!
Or perhaps car battery packs will be a DIY no go area with (costly) swap outs being the only option.

Re: Signing in

I am also someone who ‘logs out’ after every session and am quite happy to be ‘logged out’ if I forget to do so. It is just good security procedure but I can understand how being ‘logged out’ can bug those who like to remain logged on permanently. I do agree with Paul that the ‘log off’ procedure sh...

Re: Touch screen clock

Sounds like a software glitch. I’d try a reset by disconnecting the battery for an hour then reconnecting. Not familiar with your model but you may have to reset radio etc....others may be able to advise specifics.

Re: Intermittent Starting Problem

Hi, I tried your 'two stage' start procedure this morning and had no issue so I guess that's not the problem. I have no idea about the brake pressure observation. Maybe someone more knowledgeable can comment. At nine years old your battery is likely to be a prime suspect. There's lots of advice on b...

Re: Low Brake Pad Warning

Hi Ray,

Around 3mm. So there is a reasonable margin to get the pads replaced before any damage occurs.

Re: Intermittent Starting Problem

Hi, Maybe I am just not as patient as you but when I start my XF I never wait for the vents I just put my foot on the brake and press the Start/Stop button. Two thoughts. Is this a timing issue and your ‘two step’ use of the Start/Stop button is confusing the system into thinking you are actually ca...

Re: Sat nav

Hi Jeff, I have upgraded twice using aftermarket sat nav discs without any problems either with install or operation. The upgrades work just as well as the Jaguar originals. That’s the good news the bad news is that the Jaguar sat nav software is pretty poor and slow compared with latest offerings a...

Re: Hello from Linc's.

Welcome. Enjoy your XF. You will get a lot of advice from this Forum. I would suggest that first on your to do list is check if the auto box has had an oil and filter change. If it hasn’t at 68k it’s due . It’s not a service item as Jaguar say the box is ‘sealed for life’ but this is very misleading...

Low Brake Pad Warning

I have just had the Low Brake Pad warning light appear. Obviously a job that needs to be done but is it a ‘as soon as possible’ or can it wait a week or two? How much Pad is left when the sensor first triggers the warning?

Re: MK2 60th Anniversary Celebration

I am confused as to the venue for this event. Is it at CMC Bridgnorth or Jaguar Classic Works or are there two events on the same day? The link on the events page takes you to the CMC event......

Can someone please clarify. Thanks

Re: cruise control

Hi,

In that case I suggest you plug in a diagnostic reader and check for any fault codes.
